# Application security reviews before release and during operation.

Security is part of development and delivery: review the code, test the integration boundaries and verify the deployed application before a production release.

## Make the review part of staging

We agree the application scope, data flows and test permissions before an assessment. Staging reviews cover the routes that matter to the business: authentication, account recovery, permissions, checkout, administration and background processing. A passing build is one check; it is not proof that the running system behaves securely.

## Secure API integrations

We review authentication, least-privilege credentials, secret storage, input validation and the data an integration can access. Webhook verification, replay handling, idempotency, pagination and partial-failure recovery receive the same attention as the happy path.

Timeouts, bounded retries, request-size limits and rate limits help keep a slow or failing dependency from exhausting the application. External destinations are constrained where possible to reduce server-side request forgery risks.

## Reduce avoidable overload

Expensive queries, unbounded imports, uncontrolled concurrency and retry loops can overload otherwise healthy systems. We test realistic limits and define backpressure, caching and operational alerts where appropriate. Application controls reduce avoidable exhaustion; protection from distributed denial-of-service also depends on network capacity and upstream controls.

## Findings that can be acted on

The outcome is a prioritised record of the affected component, evidence, impact, proposed correction and verification. We distinguish code review, automated checks, authorised penetration testing and deployed-runtime evidence. Remaining limitations are stated rather than hidden behind an absolute security claim.

## Connect development to security operations

Our Wazuh practice brings more than five years of internal operating experience, custom detection content and agent coverage across our infrastructure. We use Grafana and Prometheus for operational visibility and agree alert ownership and response arrangements for each customer environment.
